Beliefs

Scripture

We believe in the verbal inspiration and authority of the Scripture. The Bible reveals God, the fall of man, the way to salvation, and God’s plan and purpose through the ages (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

God

We believe in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, the tri-une (three-in-one) God. All are co-equal, co-existent, and co-eternal (Matthew 3:13-17; Mark 1:9-11; Luke 3:21-22).

Jesus

We believe in the deity, virgin birth, atoning death, and the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ. Acceptance of these facts leads a person to repentance and salvation (1 Corinthians 15:2-4; John 1:1,14).

Authentic Faith

We believe that we are justified before God by faith alone and are accounted righteous only through the person and work of Jesus Christ. (Romans 4:4-5). Authentic faith is "living" faith (faith accompanied by action) not simple belief in God (Mark 8:34 and James 2:17).  Therefore, salvation begins with the belief that Jesus was the person He claimed to be and is characterized by a willingness to make Him "Lord" in our life (Romans 10:9-10).

Baptism

We believe that water baptism is an important step in following Jesus Christ.  Once a person places authentic faith in Christ crucified and resurrected, baptism then symbolizes that faith.  It is not necessary for salvation, but is critical in proclaiming Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior (Colossians 2:9-12).
